Transportation: Bandon has a small private airstrip, and commercial flights are available to North Bend (OTH – 48 minutes by car), Eugene (EUG – 2:45 hours), Portland (PDX – 4:33 hours) and Medford (MFR – 3:10 hours). Car rentals are available at all of them, with Enterprise and Hertz serving North Bend. There are also taxis and shuttles available, but most people will enjoy the freedom of a car during their visit. Traffic is never an issue in Bandon, even in the high season.
Weather: The ocean keeps the climate quite mild, with average winter highs of 55 and summer at 65 on the beach, while it is warmer (but never hot) at Bandon Crossings Golf Course. Rain is usually only seen in the winter and early spring, with frequent lulls in a storm for great wave watching opportunities. It can be breezy any time of year, so always bring a light rain jacket, which can double as a wind breaker.
